Signs of Spring

About two weeks or so ago while lazily looking out the bus window, I caught a glimpse of a handful of uniformed migrant workers taking down the bamboo rod and green tarp covers protecting the bushes and trees from the winter wind and slush.

Last week, there was a man biking through my neighborhood announcing in a sing-songy voice that he was available to re-screen your windows and doors.

And then, a few days ago, I saw this beautiful sight out my kitchen window....

And then I knew. Spring was finally here!

So, I spent my Sabbath afternoon on a walk to see if I could find any other signs of spring...

conversations moving outside

pastel colors breaking through the winter gray

urban gardening sprouts
tiny leaves

the pulling back of quilted doors flaps

the local grocery store moving sale items to the sidewalk

more tiny buds pushing through the earth

unzipped coats and spring smiles

sidewalk barber shops

kites and piwheels and balloons
